Union welcomes new Australia Post boss
(23 December 2009) The Communications Electrical and Plumbing Union has welcomed the appointment of the corporation's new Managing Director.
"Ahmed Fahour is a respected business figure, astute and considered”, said National President of the CEPU, Ed Husic.
"Unions that have worked with him know he has a collaborative, consultative approach - which are key ingredients in building solid working relationships.
“He has a reputation for being accessible, open to ideas and for recognising the legitimate role of unions. They are qualities that will be vital when he comes on board Australia Post in February.
"The CEPU is keen to work with Mr Fahour to bridge our current differences with Australia Post to help cement a productive, long-term working relationship."
“We welcome his appointment and extend to him our commitment and goodwill”, Mr Husic said.
