Overtime at SWLF, DLC and SPF

(12 April 2010) The CEPU has lodged a claim in the Federal Magistrates Court seeking payment and penalties due to Posts refusal to offer overtime to staff who engaged in industrial action.

Members SWLF, DLC and SPF informed the union that management and team leaders approached large groups of workers informing them that rostered overtime would be cancelled for any workers who had engaged in protected industrial action before the Christmas holidays.  They were then informed that workers who had not engaged in action would not have their rostered overtime cancelled.

The union believes these actions are unlawful and will be pursuing members’ interests in the courts; any members who have faced adverse action due to taking protected industrial action should contact the CEPU. The first hearing is Friday 9 April.

BREAKING NEWS: This matter has been escalated to the national level for urgent talks between the union and Post.
