(27 April 2010) The CEPU is continuing to negotiate with ERG to establish a new Enterprise Agreement for employees of the company.
The union has now met twice with management. However progress has been hindered by the fact that most ERG employees have in the past been employed on the basis of AWAs in which entitlements such as penalty rates and annual leave loadings were bundled up into an hourly rate.
The CEPU has pointed out that for negotiations to go forward, the current AWA hourly rate needs to be broken down into its component parts. Without that information it is impossible to judge whether the rate represents a fair outcome for employees in relation to overall industry standards.
ERG members should contact their branches if they want further information on developments.
