(2 October, 2009): When the Government first announced its plans to seperate Telstra - either with their cooperation or not - the CEPU didn't hesitate to sound out concerns, to help ensure members voices were heard on a critical public policy issue.

As indicated in the articles, we're pleased the Government has moved to consult with us about its plans and we've capitalised on this opportunity to press the concerns of our members. As always our chief priorities will be:
The bottom line: we will be direct and upfront in putting our members' needs first in any discussion about the future of Telstra or the broader industry.
The CEPU will do this in a straight-forward yet respectful way to ensure that we can meaningfully influence the consideration being given to these extremely complex matters.
